Cristiano Ronaldo Saves Manchester United Once Again As They DRAW Against Chelsea

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first ever Premier League goal against Chelsea as he managed to salvage a point for Manchester United.

During the majority of the game, Chelsea dominated the possession of the ball and were attacking De Gea’s goal. Yet, the Blues failed to convert this domination of the ball into goals. However, just at the hour mark, Marcos Alonso opened the scoring. He hit a low effort past David de Gea after being found unmarked inside the United penalty area from a good cross by Kai Havertz.

Surprisingly, it took just two minutes for Man United to draw the scores level. Nemanja Matic found himself in heaps of space in the opponents half as he delivered a perfect through ball to the feet of the prolific striker Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo took a touch and hit a powerful effort past Chelsea goal keeper Mendy.

Before tonight, Cristiano Ronaldo had never scored against the Blues in the Premier League. This game was his 12th Premier League fixture against Chelsea in his career and he finally found the net with a lethal finish past Edouard Mendy. This goal meant Ronaldo has now scored all five of United’s most recent five Premier League goals, and eight of their last nine.

Another feature of the game was that there were waves of fan protests against the club’s Glazer family ownership. And this has not been the first time that this has happened. There is an overwhelming anger among the Man United’s fan-base that the Glazer family are the primary reason for the club’s decline over the past decade due to the manner in which they run the club.
